India had posted an impressive total of 587 in their first innings, bolstered by Shubman Gill's remarkable 269 and Jadeja's 89. England's response was 407, highlighted by Harry Brook's 158 and debutant Jamie Smith's unbeaten 184. However, Mohammed Siraj (6/70) and Akash Deep (4/88) played crucial roles in securing a 180-run lead for India.
Despite some initial resistance from England, their collapse from 387/5 to being all out for 407 shifted the momentum significantly. With two full days remaining and a substantial lead, India appears poised to take control of the match.
